To begin Annapurna Base camp trek, we drive for about 6 hours from Kathmandu to Pokhara or you can take a flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara, an about 35 minutes duration of flight. and next day drive Pokhara to Phedi and from Phedi, it is pleasant short climb to the picturesque Magar village of Dhampus which sits on a ridge top over looking the Pokhara Valley. This sanctuary is also dotted with small villages and acquaints you with the cultures of the Gurung and Magar people, especially their lifestyles, traditions, and religions. Just like the Annapurna Ranges, Poon Hill is another highlight, which offers you a panoramic view of mountains; there, early in the morning, at the first dawn, you see the sunrise on these mountains, as well as you see how they change their colors from white snow-covered to rich golden as the sun ascends from a low horizon to a high altitude, making the view incredible.
