On the lower slopes of Pumori, a very beautiful looking mountain near Mt. Everest, a ridge extending to the south terminates in a small peak. Kalapathar which literally means ‘ Black Rock’, is 5545m high of elevation from the sea level, provides the best vantage point for viewing Mt. Everest.
