The forbidden valley Tsum valley has been opened for all trekkers in later 2008, as a new trekking destination. 1663 sq kilometers of area has been occupied by this valley. In this Tsum valley Trek, trekking starts from Arughat, to get there by public transport or private transport from the capital the Kathmandu city.
Tsum Valley is known as holy Himalayan precipitous pilgrimage valley which is situated in Gorkha a northern part of Nepal. Tsum comes from the Tibetan words In general the meaning of Tsum denoted vibrant, against the magnificent background of the various mountains, are Ganesh, Sringi and Boudha himal ranges, this tranquil hilly valley is well-off in religion, culture and ancient art.
Typically of Tibetan origin peoples are residing in this area. Most of the tracks are spotted with creative Stupas (known as Chortens in Tibetan language) and lined with Mani walls (stone carved with Buddhist religious words “Om mani padme hun”) .This route passes through the both Manaslu region and Tsum Valley area in Nepal.
The Tsum Valley Trek is an amazing experience having huge historical background of Buddhist religion. It is believed to know that the great Buddhist saint Milarepa was meditated in the caves of these Himalayan sides for many years. The Tsum valley was a culturally different biological called thirteen provinces which was ruled as single territory in Tibetan language called “Sum Tso Choksum. Because of isolation and detachment of this holy valley the people of this area have been go around by typical development for centuries.
Wild life in Tsum valley is rich and diverse inhabit mosaic of habitats.
There are approximately 33 species of mammals including elusive snow leopard, musk deer, Ghoral, Himalayan Thar and blue sheep. The Thar (mountain goat) and blue sheep are gather together in large numbers. There are more than 110 species of birds, 11 species of butterfly and 3 species of reptiles There are approximately 2000 species of plants, 11 types of forest. In Tsum valley, you are not allowed to do fishing and killing any animals, which are completely prohibited in this area. Mhu Gompa and Rangchen Gompa are the mainly historic monasteries of the Tsum valley.
