Kharta Tour includes from a beautiful nature to trekking in a wondrous valley to monasteries and temples, as well as it includes the passes and valleys, andcascading waterfalls, and of course Milarepa Cave, Potala Palace, and to name others, it includes The Himalayan Ranges, a scenic drive to Lalung La, Tibetan villages, 8000 m peaks, such as Cho Oyu, Everest, Makalu, and Lhotse,a string of lakes, yak herder camps,and so on. Trekking in this valley offer an unique experience of hiking into a lush remote valley and a rare view of the Khangsung face (east face) of Mt. Everest and other peaks such as , Lhotse, Chomolonzo and other Himalayan peaks.
In addition, it also takes you to a meadow, wherein you spend your night in a camp in a meadow and walk in a steep slope. This will be once in a lifetime experience for you.These highlights create a thrill, a continual thrill, and this thrill takes its root when you start your trek from Kharta. Following the well-defined trekking trail, you head off to yak pastures, meandering valleys,impressive birch groves, and dwarf rhododendrons, including pine and fir forest, and coniferous ridgeline.The view of the Chomo Lonzo Glacier that you see is amazing, breathtaking, and stunning, whilesome of the impressive monasteries that you visit are artistically rich, and their names are Rongbuk, Drepung, Gyantse Kumbum, Sera, and Pelkore Chode.Each of these tells you about the history, religion, and culture of Tibet.On the way, you stop to enjoy the beauty of Yamdrok Tso or Turquoise Lake, which is one of the sacred lakes of Tibet; it is surrounded by snow-covered mountains. You also cross the famous passes of Tibet, such as the Karo La, Khamba La,Gyamtso La, and Pang La, and this last pass offers you a scenic view. Later, you visit the two temples of Tibet, and they are famous across Tibet, and their names are Jokhangand Norbulingka. The latter is famous for its architecture; in the former, you see hundredsof devotees every day.
To begin this trek, we drive from Kathmandu to Kharta Qu – a Tibetan town situated by the Phu Chu river near the Rongbuk side of Mt. Everest base camp. From Karta Qu, the direct route to Kangshung base camp is via Langma La pass (17700ft./5240m.). However, in order to get well acclimatized during the trek, we choose the slightly longer alternative route over the Shau-La pass ( 15700ft./4790m.) – which is a lower pass to the SE of Langma La. After the crossing of Shau-La pass, enter the Karma Tsangpo Valley and then into the Kangshung Valley to arrive at the Kangshung base camp of the East Face of Mt. Everest.
