Dhaulagiri Circuit is a challenging and adventurous trekking spot. The Following a route initially pioneered by the veteran French climber Maurice Herzog, Dhaulagiri circuit trek, the massif of Dhaulagiri is as challenging and remote as any in Nepal.
We begin Dhaulagir circuit trek with a 6 hour drive to Pokhara – the road folling the Trisuli and Marsyandi river. Pokhara is Nepal most scenic lake town settled at the opposite banks of Seti river which flows underground. The major attractions of this area are the views of panoramic snow-capped mountain peaks like Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Tukuche, Annapurna , Fish tail and many others. The mountain views of the Annapurna, Machhapurchrey Himla ranges in the north from here is breathtaking! From Pokhara, our route heads up the Marsyangdi river valley passing through several market towns settled along its fertile banks, to reach the south-western flanks of Dhaulagiri. At 8167m./26795ft. Dhaulagiri is a very impressive mountain noted for its sheer vertical and massive south face that dominates the Marsyangdi river valley. Arriving at Dhaulagiri, we camp near the expedition base camp (4750m./15583ft.) and observe routes that climbers have chosen to get to the summit. After summiting this formidable mountain (with our eyes!) we gradually ascend, maneuvering a demanding glacier terrain, to the French Pass (5360m./17585ft.).We then descend down to the Kaligandaki valley and begin to see signs of modern civilization, as we encounter other trekkers and tea houses luring us with a bottled Coke chilled in an earthen water jar.
While you’re in the trip, you can get nice opportunity to see the sights of the amazing life styles of local people like Gurungs & Magars and their amazing culture, moreover this, you can also get chances to observe the wild animals like Himalayan Thar, Leopards, Red Panda, Musk deer and the various species of birds.
We follow the main trekking trail to Pokhara, stopping on our way to enjoy the hot water spring of Tatopani and more superb views of Dhaulagiri, the Annapurnas and many other snow-capped peaks from the summit of Poon Hill ridge.
